About Kistler Vineyards
Steve Kistler's rich, Burgundy-style Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs, from a series of ideally situated vineyards all around Sonoma County, have long been favorites among collectors and restaurant clients. The best bottlings have proven to be excellent mid-term agers and are among the richest and most complex Chardonnays made anywhere—the key is low-tech, hands-off winemaking that makes the most of the particular vineyard site plus what each vintage has to offer.

($75) Light gold. A strikingly complex bouquet displays scents of wet stone, iodine, pear, lemon rind and smoked meat. Tightly wound, mineral-driven citrus and orchard fruit flavors completely stain the palate, picking up exotic floral and spice notes with air. The finish resonates with citrus fruit, stones and white flowers and refuses to let up. The '05 version of this was like a Montrachet while this one is a dead-ringer for Chevalier-Montrachet.
