About Raptor Ridge Winery
If you come to Raptor Ridge hoping to find a fossil between the rows of Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris, you’ll be sorely disappointed. The estate gets its name from the many birds of prey native to the area—red tailed hawks, kestrels, owls and more. In addition to the birds, you’ll also find elegant, structured Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, and Gruner Veltliner.

($40) Deep red. Powerful blackberry, cassis and licorice aromas, along with cocoa powder and Indian spices. Pliant dark berry flavors offer deep, liqueur-like dark berry and kirsch flavors, with gentle mineral lift on the close. Rich, sweet and impressively broad on the finish, which leaves behind a strong dark fruit compote quality. This is surprisingly lithe for a wine with such weight.
