89(+?) Points | Stephen Tanzer's IWC - May/June 2008

($52) Good medium red with a hint of amber at the rim. Slightly tutti-frutti aromas of strawberry, raspberry, truffley underbrush and spicy oak, lifted by a whiff of citrus skin. Broad and ripe, with a candied, almost liqueur-like character to the red fruit flavors. The most tannic of this set of releases and a bit tougher on the back end, with a drier character and pronounced spice and herbal notes. Still youthfully closed. This also was vinified with a small percentage of its stems.
