($110) Full medium ruby. Blackberry and bitter chocolate aromas along with strong sexy oak. A chewy, intense midweight with nicely concentrated blackberry and espresso flavors sexed up by sweet oak. This rather voluminous wine spreads out to coat the palate, with a hint of stony minerality giving it shape. Finishes with fine-grained tannins, but I'd still give this youthfully bound-up wine a couple years of cellaring before pulling the cork.
