($30-$55) Full ruby-red. Smoke, leather, pepper and herbs on the slightly raw nose. Then surprisingly supple and broad if a bit youthfully clenched in the mouth, with the peppery quality carrying through to the finish, which offers an intriguing suggestion of curry powder. Classic traditionally styled, flavory claret.
