($75; 100% cabernet sauvignon, from a 1998 planting on the highest part of the Neyers' ranch in Conn Valley) Saturated ruby. Liqueur-like aromas of black cherry, mocha and violet; this smells creamy! Then fat and superripe but with a rocky character giving verve to the black fruit flavors. There's a slightly porty aspect here and yet the wine does not come off as overly sweet. Finishes with building tannins.
