($30) Deep, lurid pink. Smoky black raspberry, cassis and dried flowers on the nose. Full-throttle, concentrated red berry flavors display red wine-like power, with slow-building anise and candied lavender qualities adding complexity. This behaves more like a light red than a traditional rose, finishing with impressively deep dark berry and succulent herb character. I'd serve this big boy with something like braised rabbit or duck with prunes and bacon. (Rosenthal Wine Merchant, Pine Plains, NY)
