($23; 100% aglianico del vulture) Light amber-red. Exotically perfumed bouquet of dried cherry, plum, cocoa powder and gingerbread. Fleshy strawberry, cherry, mocha and herb flavors are gently lifted by dusty minerality, gaining weight and richness with air. This reminds me of a very old Burgundy, with an almost decadent display of sweet and dried fruits, candied flowers and musky herbs, tobacco and underbrush. Pretty wild, strikingly distinctive stuff.
