2007 La Carraia Sangiovese Umbria Rosso

Medium red. The nose begins with a lovely floral perfume and good vinosity, then turns a touch syrupy. Offers a sensual mingling of smokiness and bright cranberry-inflected fruit, with a hint of unabsorbed carbon dioxide giving added freshness. Somewhat Beaujolais-like on the sappy, moderately persistent finish, with a delicate green pepper quality.
