About Louis Michel & Fils
In six generations of winemaking here in Chablis, the Michel family has developed a no nonsense approach. You won't find the distracting presence of oak in these immaculate Chardonnays, because no wood is used in their cellaring.
2007 Louis Michel & Fils Chablis Les Clos
Producer: Louis Michel & Fils
Style: White Wine
Grape Type: Chardonnay
Origin: France
Region: Burgundy
Appellation: Chablis
91-92 Points | International Wine Cellar , July/August 2009
($86) Lemon, medicinal herbs, crushed stone and menthol on the reduced nose. Dense and sappy but closed, hinting at good sweetness for the vintage but showing much less personality today than the 2008 version. The dominant wet stone flavor gives this a very austere impression. Plenty of stuffing here, and long and vibrant on the aftertaste, but this will require a minimum of five years of bottle aging.
