($32; 100% tempranillo) Saturated red. Sexy, highly perfumed bouquet displays red berries, cherry compote and toasty oak spices. Cherry-vanilla and cola flavors are brightened by smoky minerals and fresh flowers, picking up sweet mocha on the back end. A mineral component adds snap to the long, pliant finish, which leaves behind a refreshing bitter cherry pit quality.
Spain has more acres under vine than any other country and ranks third in production behind Italy and France. Much of this output continues to be hot-country jug wine made to satisfy the everyday thirsts of the domestic and greater European markets
