($17; a blend of carinena, syrah and garnacha) Dark purple. Sexy aromas of blackberry, blueberry, Asian spices and smoked meat. Supple and open-knit, with sweet dark berry preserve flavors, velvety texture and good mineral bite. Manages to be both nervy and concentrated, with very good finishing clarity and cut. Leaves strong blue fruit notes behind and repeats the spicy quality.

Great berry flavor, nice finish

Just tried the 2007 vintage of this wine after it had been recommended by several sources. The wine is exceptionally smooth and very well-balanced. Its unique character becomes apparent as you start to pour it and it doesn't disappoint. At this price it's a great value - let's hope that the price holds.
