2006 Earthquake Zinfandel Lodi

By Michael & David Phillips. Long on sweet oak and high in the ripeness that Lodi predicts, this outgoing Zin leaves nothing in reserve. It is full and fleshy in feel with enough heat to notice in its finish, but it is also quite rich and loaded with jammy, berry-like fruit. Tag it for drinking sooner rather than later, and pair it up with rich, marinated pork dishes.
