($100; from a single vineyard) Good deep, bright red-ruby color. Very ripe aromas of wild strawberry, red cherry and cinnamon, along with a mineral component. Sweet, round and fairly large-scaled, with impressive texture and weight. Today the wine's oak has the upper hand over its cherry and mineral flavors. Broader and silkier than the basic release but showing less verve and grip today. The tannins are firm but not at all hard. (Pasternak Wine Imports, Greenwich, CT)
