($32; a 56/44 blend) Youthful purple. Complex bouquet of smoky, meaty dark berry compote and cherry. Extremely rich, with distinctly porty blackberry and candied cherry flavors and a chewy texture. A powerful, sappy, rather overwhelming style that has just enough energy to keep it reined in and focused. This big, impressively dense wine needs some serious red meat.
