($28; 90% cabernet sauvignon and 10% shiraz) Deep, bright-rimmed ruby color. Very spicy aromas of pungent red and dark berries, dried violet, incense and botanical herbs. Round and sappy, with sweet cherry and blackcurrant flavors, juicy acidity and gentle tannic grip. This became more powerful with air, taking on subtle espresso and bitter chocolate character. Leaves ripe cherry and plum notes behind on the long, chewy finish. This needs time to unwind.
