($50; 100% tempranillo) Deep, vivid red. Concentrated cherry and blackcurrant aromas are complemented by cracked pepper, vanilla and cocoa. Pliant black raspberry and cassis flavors are impressively deep and pure, with a sweet candied licorice quality coming up with air. A youthfully juicy Rioja with very good finishing lift and tannic grip. I'd give it at least another five years to lose some of its primary fruit.
