($58) Deep red. Pungent, mineral-driven aromas of dark berries and cherry, with subtle floral and smoke notes adding complexity; reminds me of a wine from Morey-Saint-Denis. Sweet black raspberry and cherry flavors are supple and palate-saturating, picking up a zesty black pepper quality on the back end. Maintains sweetness and power through its long, gently chewy finish. I like this wine's blend of richness and vivacity.
