About Domaine Weinbach
Domaine Weinbach was established in 1610 by the Capuchin monks who also gave their name to the domaine's most prized vineyard, Clos des Capucins. The estate itself got the name Weinbach--which literally translates to "wine brook"--from a little stream that trickles through the property.
95 Points | Stephen Tanzer's IWC - November/December 2010
($114; for 375 ml.; 10.6% alcohol and 115 g/l r.s.) Pale gold. Pungent, botrytis-rich aromas of orange, apricot, honey, mint and earth, along with a carnal, truffley quality. Supersweet, dense and strong in acidity; extremely young and not yet complex but boasts superb energy and lift. Way more vibrant and impressive than the Riesling VT from this vintage. The rising, racy finish grips the palate and lingers for minutes. A knockout in the making.
