11% Merlot; 5% Cabernet Franc; 4% Syrah. Notes of bark and dried brush take the lead in the less than fruity aromas, and the wine is equally low on fruit in the mouth. Its soft spine may make for easy drinking, but not on our dime.

That is not a bad thing, you should just know that you are getting a more restrained, softer wine that you would normally expect out of a "new world" cabernet. This is one that you could easily put into a decanter and fool some wine snob friends to think it was a $20-30 bottle. Wine Spec gives this an 89, and that is totally appropriate - but i picked it up for $9!!! I had it with some pasta with turkey meatballs in a tomato sauce and it went beautifully - try doing that with a napa cab. I'm sure it would also be at home next to a steak, but I think burger would be more my choice.

This is the best cab I have found under $10. It's well-balanced, gentle and has a wonderful finish. I've had several bottles and find it consistently excellent.
