($70) Inky purple. Deep blackberry, cassis and graphite aromas are sharply delineated and pure. Luscious dark fruit flavors are enlivened by juicy acidity and firmed by fine-grained tannins, picking up licorice and candied floral qualities with air. The tannins fade into the fruit on the finish, which is spicy, focused and long. "My concession to marketing," said Asseo, who believes that blends allow him to best express his limestone-based vineyard.
