($370) Bright salmon-pink with a frothy mousse. Ripe strawberry, raspberry and honeyed apple on the nose, with a suave yeastiness and a floral pungency adding complexity. Broad, fleshy and deep, offering concentrated red fruit and apple flavors kissed by dusty minerals. Surprisingly elegant for a wine from this hot vintage, with excellent finishing lift and sappy persistence. Still, while this wine has a track record for aging, I'd drink mine sooner than later.
