94 Points | International Wine Cellar , November/December 2008

($66; pinot gris) Medium green-yellow. Very clearly defined varietal bouquet of honeyed raisin, marzipan, soft smoke and pleasant vegetal spices. Elegant and refreshing yet also quite concentrated. Dark flinty spices and enticing pear flavor the mouth and the finish, with elegantly integrated acid providing definition. The long finish exhibits abundant salty minerality. This is certainly Hirtzberger's best pinot gris in years, and a wine with a very promising future. Drink 2009 to 2017. (Vin Divino, Chicago, IL)
