($90) Inky purple. Expansive, penetrating dark berry and floral scents, with potent notes of incense, violet, cola and smoky minerals. Broad, palate-staining mulberry and blueberry flavors are enlivened by tangy minerality and supported by supple tannins. The mineral element picks up steam on the finish, which is strikingly lively and persistent. Here's an urbane, seductive Cornas that is behaving more like an upriver cousin.
