($52; 100% new oak) Ruby-red. Explosively perfumed bouquet of cherry-vanilla, mulberry and Indian spices, along with building notes of potpourri and cracked pepper. Bright red and dark berry preserve flavors are enlivened by tangy minerality and become smokier with aeration. Refreshingly juicy and lively for a rich wine, with excellent finishing clarity and lingering spiciness.
