($68) Light yellow with a faint peach skin tinge. Deep, gently smoky aromas evoke dried peach, mango, apricot pit and dried rose. Fleshy and rich, with chewy pit and exotic fruit flavors and an overlay of candied flowers. More extroverted and powerful than usual for this wine, with an impressively long, gently sweet finish. I'd serve this with aged goat or washed-rind cheeses. Rostaing told me that the September heat resulted in some dried berries in Condrieu and that he'd serve this with asparagus with a mousseline sauce.
