About Maison Chapoutier
Maison Chapoutier, the first négociant and producer to mark their bottlings with braille, was established in 1879 by Polydor Chapoutier. The business has remained family owned since then and is now run by Michel Chapoutier. His hands off approach to winemaking has lead to a resurgence in quality at Maison Chapoutier, which now produces some of the finest wines in the Rhone region of France.

Pale yellow. Dried pear and peach on the nose, with beeswax and toasted grain adding complexity; the waxy quality reminded me of chenin blanc. Dry and a bit hard-edged, with light-bodied citrus pith and orchard fruit flavors. Dusty, gripping and a bit uncompromising today.
