About Maison Chapoutier
Maison Chapoutier, the first négociant and producer to mark their bottlings with braille, was established in 1879 by Polydor Chapoutier. The business has remained family owned since then and is now run by Michel Chapoutier. His hands off approach to winemaking has lead to a resurgence in quality at Maison Chapoutier, which now produces some of the finest wines in the Rhone region of France.

($55) Deep, vivid red. Smoky raspberry and cherry on the nose, with complicating notes of violet and rose. Bright red fruit flavors are given depth by suggestions of olive and licorice, with bracing minerality adding focus. Finishes lively and precise, with the red fruit and floral notes repeating. There'd be no crime in drinking this now.
