89 Points | Stephen Tanzer's IWC - January/February 2009

($66; 100% roussanne from the lieux-dit Les Beaumes and La Maison Blanche) Bright gold color. Intriguingly perfumed, with a complex bouquet of ripe tropical fruits, lemon zest, nectarine, smoke and minerals, with subtle butter and nut qualities. Fleshy peach, mango and buttered toast flavors are firmed by bitter citrus zest and pith notes and pick up musky herbs on the back end. This has the acidity to reward patience but there's plenty going on already. This should be served with a decadently rich seafood dish.
