($175; 100% new barriques Vivid ruby. Highly aromatic bouquet of blackberry, boysenberry, vanilla, cola and oak spices, with a strong floral overlay. Fresh, gently sweet dark berry preserve flavors are lifted by zesty minerals and pick up a suave floral pastille quality with air. Very alluring wine, with strong finishing thrust and clarity; the fruit seems more than up to the potent oak.
