(95% marsanne and 5% roussanne) Bright yellow. Smoky yellow plum, dried pear and anise on the deeply perfumed nose. Wild notes of botanical herbs arrive with aeration and carry onto the palate, which features an array of orchard and pit fruits. The anise note repeats on the very long, sappy finish. I'd bet on this spicy, precise wine rewarding at least another six years of patience. (Chemin des Vins; importers include Vineyard Road, Framingham, MA; William Harrison Imports, Manassas, VA; and Fine Vines, Melrose Park, IL)
