Expert Reviews

90 Points | International Wine Cellar , January/February 2009

($50; 55% malbec, 25% petit verdot and 20% cabernet sauvignon) Deep ruby. Superripe aromas of cassis and licorice; verging on porty. Fat, lush and sweet but not especially deep, with a flamboyantly high-toned quality to the dark fruit and nutty oak flavors. Offers a distinctly open-knit texture and unrestrained quality for a wine from Laura Catena. Finishes a bit soft, with broad ripe tannins and more nutty oak. Conveys an impression of fast-ripening fruit and should provide early pleasure.
