($24) Good bright, dark red. Aromas of crushed raspberry, smoke and cinders. Densely packed but penetrating, with a firm spine of acidity currently keeping the wine's fruit under wraps. Not yet pliant or expressive in the mouth but finishes with lovely lingering perfume. This needs a good three years of bottle aging. (Vineyard Brands, Birmingham, AL)
