($22) Deep ruby. Smoky blackberry and cola aromas are complicated by black pepper, anise and dried flowers. Firm, tightly wound dark berry flavors gain sweetness with air, taking a turn to brighter raspberry and offering a zesty mineral quality. The finish is spicy and seductively sweet, leaving tangy red and dark berry skin and licorice notes behind. (Epicurean Wines, Seattle, WA)
