($60) Bright, full ruby. High-pitched aromas of crushed blackberry, violet, nutmeg and allspice. Penetrating, almost medicinal flavors of crushed dark berries and spices, with fresh acidity leavening the wine's ripeness. Classy and serious wine, structured for a slow evolution in bottle. Finishes with a light touch. This rather internationally styled wine, which benefits from the winemaking talents of enologist Alberto Antonini, reminded me of a top Napa cabernet with sound acidity.
