About Araujo Estate
Since 1990, Bart and Daphne Araujo have carried on the tradition of making monster Cabernets from the Eisele Vineyard, adding Syrah into the mix as well. Their flagship bottling is dense, powerful and rich, typically with soil-inflected notes of plum, mocha, tobacco and smoke, and very suave tannins.

($95; a 72/28 blend of cabernet sauvignon and merlot) Good bright medium ruby. Lively aromas of cassis, licorice and tobacco. Lush and sweet but with good definition and lift to the flavors of black raspberry, coffee and mocha. The juicy, long finish features smooth, sweet tannins that expand with air.
