($33; 48% garnacha, 15% each of cabernet sauvignon and merlot, 12% syrah and 10% carinena) Opaque ruby. Deep, smoky aromas of cherry pit and blackcurrant, with complicating notes of licorice and black tea. Picks up energy with air and offers sweet red and dark fruit flavors on the palate, with zesty acidity providing focus and lift. Finishes with very good clarity and a spicy persistence that repeats the licorice note. Decant this for an hour if you plan on popping a bottle anytime soon.
