About Pride Mountain Vineyards
Nestled above the Spring Mountain fog, on the Napa-Sonoma county line, Pride Mountain Vineyard sits on a former 340-acre agricultural Summit Ranch. In 1989, when Jim and Carolyn Pride purchased the spread they planned on growing grapes to sell, but soon caught the bug and built a winery.

($66; blended with 8% merlot) Medium ruby-red. Subdued aromas of plum, currant, tar, earth, roasted herbs and cedary spices. The palate offers better definition and energy than the merlot, with nicely perfumed mountain berry and cedar flavors offering sneaky intensity. Finishes with a serious dusting of tannins and good life and length.
