(a 63/37 blend):  Deep ruby-red.  Plum, cassis and licorice on the slightly warm nose.  Thick but lively on the palate, with sound acidity perking up the flavors of crunchy black fruits, licorice and shoe polish.  A rather new-style wine but not yet complex and in need of more nuance and give.  The oak-driven tannins are a bit dry.
