($43; bottled in February of 2009; aged in 500- and 600-liter casks, about one-third new) Saturated ruby. Deep, pure aromas of black raspberry and bitter chocolate. Sweet, lush and deep, with uncommon density and breadth for barbera. Highly concentrated flavors of blackberry, cassis and minerals linger impressively on the gripping finish.
