About Spottswoode Vineyard
Part of the old guard in Napa Valley, Spottswoode was established in the first wave of vine planting, back in 1882. Christened by Mrs. Albert Spotts in 1910, Spottswoode is now managed by Mary Novak and her two children, Beth and Lindy. Over the past two decades, Spottswoode has been one of the most consistent Cabernet producers of California, with a track record for graceful bottle aging.

($60; blended with 7% cabernet franc) Bright ruby-red. Cassis, black cherry and bitter chocolate aromas lifted by a violet note. Nicely balanced, fruit-driven wine with supple flavors of cassis and boysenberry. The floral quality of the estate's cabernet comes through in spades. Very successful for this second wine thanks to the high quality of the vintage.
