Grape Type: Syrah/Shiraz
Origin: Australia
Region: Barossa Valley
93 Points | International Wine Cellar , July/August 2009
($40) Inky ruby. Dark berries, iron, Asian spices and cracked pepper on the nose. Silky in texture, offering sweet blackcurrant and blueberry flavors and supple tannins. Turns livelier with air, taking a turn to zestier red fruits while retaining power. Strikingly pure and juicy, with excellent finishing clarity and a strong echo of raspberry fruit.

WISH I HAD MORE OF IT

I don't remember how much I paid through W A but whatever it was, it was worth it....wish I had more. I did wait until 2012 to open...glad I did....same review from the two others I shared with.....solid 93...pepper and berry very prominent and just dry enough.
excellent shiraz

don't let the screw cap fool you, big wine, great balance, long finish.

Great briar up front. Cedar and smoke. Blueberry and stone fruit. Oak in the mid range. Needs more time to integrate. Try in two years.

Jammy, smooth and not overripe. Almost restrained by Aussie standards. good.
Balanced Barossa

Tastes like the Shiraz you used to get a decade ago. Inky black and rich but not grossly alcoholic.

Very nice Shiraz, a little young but I knew that when I opened. Really looking forward to it in a few years.
Nice Australian Shiraz; but good Value in the world market?

The aroma was heavy, of currents, with some spice. The taste was smooth (alcohol) and of cherries and currents. There was moderate tannin. About 1 hour aftertaste. 2nd day was weaker on aroma and taste but still good. 2-3 years age possible. A mid-Calif. Syrah may be a better value for you.

When I see the name John Duval, I know it will be good. Entity is no exception to this. Thank you Wine Access for offering such high quality wines such as this one at such reasonable prices.

Bought 4 bottles...couldn't resist trying one when it arrived. Very smooth, somewhat fruity. Expect it to get even better with age...if we can restrain ourselves.

1st tasting 1st day very nice well balanced but not the OMG I'm looking for......capped it with it's screw cap, fridge overnight......2nd day ....wow...much more expanded....soft little tannin bed with a decent fruit lollipop
riding on top the way I enjoy with this genre ....recommend decant 1hr

A big, juicy wine of the sort one used to expect from better Aussie providers. Clearly Mr. Duval has the proper place of Shiraz in mind.

Lighter-2-Medium body, but balanced and round. While the nose is interesting the complexity is missing. 88-89 is my rating.

Not worth the money and most certainly not a 93 or whatever it was cracked up to be. Just not a quality wine. Period.
So, I won't be shopping with you guys again. Take me off all your lists.
