($45; from 88-year-old vines) Vivid ruby. Sexy aromas of raspberry and blackberry preserves, musky dried rose, white pepper and star anise gain depth with air and take on a deeper cherry quality. Broad, sappy black raspberry and cherry preserve flavors are framed by supple tannins that fade into the fruit. The spicy note adds urgency to the long, sweet, floral-accented finish. This will be even better in a few years.
