92 Points | Stephen Tanzer's IWC - September/October 2010

($50; aged in 100% new large French oak casks) Opaque ruby. Fragrant, complex bouquet of cherry-cola, incense, minerals and Asian spices. Initially dominated by its wood element, but powerful red and dark fruit preserve flavors come forward with air, along with notes of candied rose and star anise. The floral quality repeats on the sappy, impressively persistent finish. This bottling, which has only been made in 2007, 2005, 2001, 1990 and 1982, would do some damage in a tasting of high-end Bordeaux. (Ole Imports, New Rochelle NY)
