($50) Bright medium ruby. Very dark aromas of black fruits, violet, licorice and minerals. Dense, layered and sweet, with an urgent cassis flavor dominating today. Conveys superb intensity and verve, with some sexy Taransaud cocoa powder adding appeal. The very long finish features a subtle minty lift. This wine gives a very sweet impression every year, notes Januik. A beauty.
