($70; aged 24 months in French oak; 15% alcohol) Saturated ruby. Blackberry, cassis, violet and celery seed aromas are carrying a full load of exotic, coconutty oak. Then lush, seamless and mouthfilling, with powerful flavors of black raspberry, mocha and sexy oak. Silky but with firm spine, as there's plenty of acidity here to buffer this huge wine's sweetness. The broad, palate-saturating finish features major suave tannins and superb length. I'd give this big boy some more time in bottle to absorb its acidity. (Winebow, Inc., New York, NY)
