Better than ever!

It has been nearly a year and a half since I had the first one of these. As good as it was at that time, it is better now, offering more complexity on the nose and including most of the components mentioned in the Parker review. It is even richer, fuller, rounder and more plush on the palate and has a longer, smoother finish. Just magnificent and well worth five stars.
phew!

2007 vintage. How could an American Syrah be much better? Full of fruit and spice and peppery fireworks tastes..almost scattershot in effect. Yet wonderfully smooth and elegant at the same time. One of the headiest but sophisticated American wines I've ever drunk.
Best of the best

This is one of the best wines I have tasted in many years; close to George Latour's Cabs for about 1/3 the price. Still, there are some almost as good wines, like The Crusher Petite Syrah for about half the price. WineAccess Fabre Malbec is also a good choice for 1/3 he price, but without the depth and complexity. Never the less this wine is worth the five star rating for quality alone. Best on the second day.

Felt like I tripped face down in a plum orchard right after a heavy rainstorm while smoking a Nicaraguan-broadleaf cigar. A massive, dark purple, full body wine once in glass – big dark, efficacious fruit and barnyard aromatics. Palate was full bore, dark plums and ripe blueberry; chewy tannins – expected dry, but were focused and well integrated – some American oak and a faint leathery note. Finish was long, complex with more of the same dark fruit; leather was more prominent, mild cassis, and tobacco and smoked bacon builds at finish. Great glass, but fell short of Ramey’s most brilliant Shanel Vineyard compilation (MY94). B+/91
Good nose. The fruit opens slowly and then rounds as it warms and finishes slightly dry. Excellent

Dark, brooding violet color. Nose was a little shut down and had some traces of cork, with some cherry notes, pepper, and roasted meat coming through. Full bodied and wonderfully ripe on the palate, with loads of dark red fruit, silky smooth tannins, and a long finish. If not for the brett on the nose, this is a 5 pointer all the way!
Smooth

Lots of subtle and enjoyable flavors. Good before or with food.
Wish I could give 4.5 stars!

Wow! This is REALLY good syrah--not over-the-top like some central coast syrah's, but elegant, complex and flavorful. Tasted VERY similar to the $50 '08 DuMol that I had a couple of weeks ago. The best $30 syrah I've had--EXCELLENT.
Very Nice!

Nice floral note on the nose along with the bacon fat and olive tapenade. Very rich, round and full on the palate, with a nice long smooth finish. This just became fuller and nicer over the course of about two and a half hours. Really should be 4.5 stars.
Good wine, but not extraordinary

Not on the same level as the 2006 Rodgers Creek, but some of the same "house flavor"
Delicious

Started out with the Ramey with friends, many who were not Syrah fans. To our friends suprise they fell in love, this was outsanding. The reviews do it justice, this is a great wine leaving you with a wonderfuly light and balanced smoothness that is full of deep cherries.
