It appears my worst fears were confirmed. FedEx screwed up the shipment of this wine to me, causing it to sit two extra days on a truck or in a warehouse. I opened the first bottle the other evening and decanted it while preparing dinner. The nose seemed muted, the color a bit off and the flavor just not present - even after time in the glass. I kept trying the wine over the course of several hours but it just wasn't happening. I'm convinced it is due to the transportation and storage and not the wine itself. Bummer.
