($40) Ruby-red. Soil-inflected nose offers blueberry, currant, tobacco and violet. Sweet, pliant and suave but much more than simply a fruit bomb, with the tobacco and violet elements carrying through on the palate. Enveloping but thoroughly ripe tannins coat the front teeth. Sophisticated, dry cabernet, finishing with a peppery nuance and a lovely whiplash of flavor. I'd lay this down for at least a few years.
