92 Points | International Wine Cellar , November/December 2009

($50; from 65-year-old vines planted on rocky soil rich in calcaire, according to Rivetti; aged half in new and half in once-used barriques Good full red-ruby. Fully ripe aromas of cassis and dark chocolate. Sweeter, broader and silkier than the Ca' di Pian, with more old-viney creaminess and depth of flavor. This has the sheer stuffing to cover its sound acidity. Finishes with suave, oak-influenced tannins and a spicy character. From a crop level of just 25 hectoliters per hectare, says Rivetti, who notes that the 2004 version of this wine is great right now.
